The Italian composer Matilde Capuis (née 1913) has written atmospherically lieder full of emotional reality and melancholy. The selection of the Dodici Liriche with piano accompaniment, the partially a cappella Canti per Bimbi and the Divagazioni-vokalises with violoncello shows the great variety of the prize-winning opera of this composer. Ulrike Martin and Annegeer Stumphius with their accompanist are sensitive interpreters of the 27 wonderful songs.

Barbara Heller composed the Kartenspiele - II pleut à Paris as a kind of diary during a stay in Paris in October 1994. The initial musical concept was triggered by the (post)card in its role as a travel accessory: small-scale drawings containing musical notation and lines of relation and motion offer a concise depiction of music renderable in diverse ways.
Christopher Deli has here recorded 17 of the 45 pieces, eight of them on the vibraphone, five on the marimbaphone and four on both together. In the folio-wing text, eighteen performers state their own personal experiences with Barbara Heller’s Kartenspiele. In this first recorded performance of Barbara Heller‘s Kartenspiele by the jazz-vibraphone player Christopher Deli one can recognize a sensitive dialogue between composer and performer.

Barbara Heller’s Ton-Zeichen (”Tone-Signs”) are single pages of drawings integrated with traditionally–notated sequences of pitches. So melodies on these pages ”grow” from the leaves of banana plants, cover ”stony acres”, or form mussels that sing a ”song about the lost pearl”. Barbara Heller and Nikolaus Heyduck used different sound and noice sources for these recordings: from violoncello, prepared piano, xylophone and glockenspiel to wine glasses and even stones and bricks. The electronic realizations on the present CD develop beautiful expansive, meditative sound landscapes.

Veronica Kraneis is one of the few flautists who is a virtuoso player of all types of flutes.
Contemporary composers (as Jaime Zenamon, Barbara Heller) have been inspired by the artistic expression of her personality and some of their compositions have been dedicated to her. Together with the pianist Margrit Zimmermann she has now recorded wonderful pieeces for flute and piano.
